If there is something I love to do after a long day at work is taking a hot tub. its impossible to think of any trouble that can’t be washed away with a long, warm, bubbly bath. There’s nothing more relaxing and soothing than soak in hot water enriched with some salts and oils.
What I like to do is customize my bath salts, combining them with different oils for different needs. At the top of the bath I keep a jar with my favorite salt of the moment: lavender and magnesium. It’s the perfect combination for a relaxing, calming bath before to go to sleep.
Both lavender and magnesium in fact bring balance and control the stress hormone assuring you a better sleep. When there is lack of magnesium in our body the hormone melatonin is disturbed and consequentially we can suffer from insomnia.
They also both relax the nervous system, helping you even with headaches and anxiety.
In short they do wonderful things for you. So when you come back from a long day out and you’re looking forward to be relaxed and be cosy, take a warm bath with this magnesium and lavender salt. The next day it will be like you were born again!
Ingredients (for one bath):
50gr Epsom salt
50gr Himalayan salt
30gr bicarbonate of soda
2 teaspoon magnesium oil
1 teaspoon lavender oil
Put all the ingredients together in a jar and shake well. Let it rest for at least a couple of hours before to use it giving the salts the right time to absorb the oils. And voilàt, close your eyes, relax and smile!
