Sawubona everyone!

I just greeted you in South African language! Yes because that’s where I will be, in one-week time! I’m attending a wedding and I’m super excited! 

Even if I’m going for a super short time, unfortunately, I imagine I’m gonna eat a lot, and probably drink. You know, celebration time!

So in the meantime I’m preparing my tummy and detoxing my body.

I have to admit though, this is not my recipe but it’s too good not to share. It’s from the amazing blog of Angela Liddon, Oh She Glow.

At first it’s a weird taste but then somehow you can’t get enough of it. I have many different feelings towards this drink, but overall, I love it!

It’s great for detoxing because contains the well-known turmeric (to refresh your memory, click here –link to post-); cayenne pepper, which helps digestion, boost metabolism, support weight loss and detox; apple cider vinegar, which as well aids in weight loss, helps control blood sugar and tummy troubles; lemon juice, a digestive aid and liver cleanser; ginger which helps relieving digestive problems, lower cholesterol level as well as blood sugar.

Ok, now you understand why is this so amazing? I normally drink it after dinner, to help me digest before to go to bed.


Ingredients (I modified it a bit!): 

2tbsp. apple cider vinegar

juice of 1 lemon

1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

1tsp. cinnamon

1tsp. ground turmeric

a pinch cayenne pepper

maple syrup, to taste

Put all the ingredients in a cafetiere or in a teapot and add boiled water. Whisk well and pour it in cups! :) voilat! 

(I use a cafetiere because with the filter plunger I can mix it all up again when it's ready to drink and it also keeps all the bits from going into the cup)
