I'm excited to introduce you to Cal, a matcha enthusiast, who created this amazing and tasty recipe of lemon matcha snack balls!

I mean look at them, don't they look just as the perfect afternoon, energising treat?

"This great snack takes only 10 minutes to make. The ingredients can be adjusted to suit your taste. The culinary cooking grade of Matcha Green Tea Powder is among the highest grade available. It is a super food ingredient.

Green tea is associated with health benefits. The leaves of Camellia sinensis plants are used to produce green tea. Unlike oolong or black tea, fermentation is not part of the production process.

Green tea has naturally occurring antioxidants that are boosted in this recipe by the addition of lemon. Lemon is chocked full of nutrients important to the body. The citric juices of lemon make the green tea antioxidants more available to the system.

Lemons are naturally Vitamin C enriched. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant. It is vital to the repair and development of body tissue that includes teeth, cartilage, bones, blood vessels, ligaments, and skin. Vitamin C helps produce scar tissue and heal wounds.

Dates are also nutritionally beneficial. They help in relieving many conditions including abdominal cancer, diarrhoea, sexual dysfunction, anemia, heart problems, intestinal disorders, and constipation. Dates are rich in fiber, minerals, and vitamins. The delicious fruit contains magnesium, copper, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, iron, sulfur, calcium, and oil. All of the nutrients are beneficial to health.

Coconut oil is also classified as a superfood. The benefits include skin health, better brain function, and weight loss. Saturated fat in the coconut oil has been demonised. New data shows saturated fats are harmless for the most part.

The saturated fat of coconut oil does not contain the saturated fats found in steak or cheese. They are medium length fatty acids. Most fatty acids are long-chain fatty acids that are metabolised differently.

Coconut oil fats go from the digestive system straight to the liver where they are turned into ketones and a quick energy source. Ketones can have a therapeutic effect on brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s and epilepsy.

INGREDIENTS:

2 tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder

1 cup dates

4 tbsp oats

2 tbsp shredded coconut

2 tbsp coconut oil

lemon zest and lemon juice

HOW TO

1.     Mix oats and Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder together.

2.     In food processor blend all ingredients including oats mixture.

3.     Roll the mixture into balls and keep in refrigerator."
